Busy with Uni. :(

It's been a long while since I've posted. Uni's started and it's been pretty full on! So I've been quite busy trying to catch up. And the after-effects from my car accident have came back in full force to haunt me. :( I've resorted to seeing a physio and taking lots of painkillers to cope with the agonising pain. :/ I'm going to see a osteopath next week and see if that helps! Hopefully it does some wonders and I never have back pain again! :) Additional to that, I'm also down with the flu. So the past week, I can say, that it has been a pretty 'sick' week. Battling a sore throat, blocked nose and back pain (thank God that it's managed well with painkillers) can be quite difficult. And I'm not really managing it well as I've got assignments due as well. I thought this semester will be alright, but it's not. :(

2 of my research assignments are due next Friday. I think I'll have to ask for extensions if not I doubt I'll be able to complete as my flu medicines makes me pretty drowsy in the day. :( And I have 2-3 tutes a week which requires 1-2 days to prep in advance for it. So that doesn't leave me much time to do the 2 research assignments. :( Quite scared, I don't know even if I have medical certificate, can I still have a extension? :( But I will have to try!

Anyway! I was actually watching some video on Youtube, and I chanced upon Campus Superstar 3. The grand champion is seriously so good! And she's only 19 years old! Whoa! To get a score >55/60 is seriously quite good, especially in the finals! She reminds me of Campus Superstar 1, Teresa, who wow-ed the judges with her voice too. I love her songs '心痛' and '记得'. This young lady is a lookout for sure! :)

心痛

记得

Enjoy her voice! I've uni early tomorrow, got to go and sleep now! :) xx

Taipei Trip Summary

I went to Taipei recently, and it was so, so good! =D It was my first trip there and I must say that it's my new-found favourite country to travel to now!!! It was such an eye-opening experience, and even my mum who didn't want to go with me in the first place, I dare say she enjoyed herself too! :) She bought like truckloads of stuff back... it was insane! I dubbed her as the 'Shopping Queen #2'! Hahaha. My aunt's the 'Shopping Queen #1', that's why, but my mum (her sister) is trailing behind her, by a close shot!

I didn't manage to go to much night markets as I had initially planned to go for with my friends. Due to a car accident that I had 2 days before my planned trip, I had to back out and let them go instead. Boo. :( Was quite bummed out, but thank God for His Grace that I was able to go just before I flew back to Adelaide. :) My mum just doesn't fancy night markets and after visiting one of it, I think I'm not that used to it either. Haha. But I ate A LOT of fantastic food at Taipei, including seafood! My tummy was super happy the whole trip! It was gastronomic heaven because everything is like so much cheaper that you just tend to buy and buy, without considering thrice. Haha. Seafood and sushi were like 50-60% cheaper than SG and so, so fresh! Pretty much like visiting Japan, but much cheaper, I reckon. :)

For myself, I bought quite a number of facial masks and facial products. The masks there were so cheap. I think the most expensive that I bought was 2 boxes (5 masks each) for NTD 189, that came up to an estimate equivalent of $7.56 for 10 masks, so one mask was $0.70. The cheapest mask that I bought was <$0.50 for one sheet I think. =D Singapore is like at least twice of that for the cheapest and can go up to 6x for the good range. :O Yes, I know Korea is cheaper definitely, but I haven't been to Korea yet, so I can't say.

Food-wise: bought some cup noodles back, the 满汉大餐 instant noodles that all my friends and relatives raved about; we bought back mostly beef (because it tasted so much better) and some pork. I also brought back some Taiwan snacks, which was meant as souvenirs for my friends in Adelaide. I just wished I had brought back more Taiwan snacks because they were soooo good! The 太陽餅 (Sun Cake), 鳳梨酥 (Pineapple cake) and 芋头酥 (taro mochi pastry) were really good snacks that I recommend anyone to buy!

Taro Mochi Pastry
I don't really like to eat taro because it's usually quite sweet (especially when it's served in the Chinese yam dessert, orh-nee) but I actually love this one! It's super good, this flaky pastry has taro paste and a chewy ball of mochi inside! And it's not too sweet. Mmm. It was really delicious! :) I think it can only be bought at the airport in Taipei so it's not that fresh, but still better than nothing.

This is my shopping cart of things that I bought from Taipei. It looks a lot but only because I placed each item as individually whereas for my mum, I had to stack them up because I wouldn't be able to take a shot of her cart otherwise! Lol.

My shopping cart! =D
Photo's a tad blur because I didn't realize it much earlier on, if not I would have taken another shot. :( Oh well. Half of it is facial stuff, the other half is food and maybe a quarter of it is shoes. Haha. I didn't buy any clothes this time round, mainly because I didn't have any money left to shop!! Most of our money was spent on EATING the food there!

My mum's.

Actually most of my mum's loots went to our relatives. She just kept buying and giving, and in the end what's left was not much at all. Haha. We even brought fruits back because they were so unbelievably cheap! But I didn't get to taste much of them just because I flew back to Adelaide 1 day after I came back from Taipei. :( Sigh. It was so insane trying to cart so much things back though, I think we had the most hand luggage amongst the 2 of us. I was so tired after packing and carrying all these stuff.

The cartons of fruits that were so cheap! =D
My advice would be not to ever pack fruits back, it's too troublesome, unless you check them in! But I dare say the next time I go Taipei and if fruits are that cheap, I would most likely do it again. (face palm) Haha. I would buy extra check in luggage and check them all in!! =D Then, my headache would be facing all these boxes at Changi Airport. Hahahaha.

Maybe I'll do a day by day catalogue of my trip there, but I don't know if I have time. I have quite a number of backdated posts to do! =/ I'll see how! :) Maybe I will start and stop halfway, maybe I will start and continue on through the very end. :)

Fabfad Review

True to this colour. :)

Another item that I won from FB giveaways, this time from Fabfad! Yes, I've been pretty blessed to be winning so many pretty clothes (thank You Jesus!), such that I'm reminded to spread the blessings around with my friends/family! :) This item, I actually wanted to give it to my housemate in Australia. But when the item came in the mail, it was far too short and quite small for her to wear it! So she 'gave' it back to me and I swapped it with another item for her. Haha. :) But I was quite glad too, because I liked that dress as well, we have similar tastes, and I felt that the dress really complimented me. :)

Disclaimer: As the item is won, therefore this does count as a honest review, as I'm going to give my honest feedback on the dress. :)

The item that my housemate had the privilege to choose from their list of available clothes was 'Sparrow Cut-In Frock'. Again, it's no longer available on their website! The dress must have been too pretty and eye-catching, I bet! ;) Here's a picture of how it looks like! I couldn't resist but to snap a photo of it and sent it to my housemate when I unwrapped it in the mail!

So pretty! :)
I can wear a mask and still look good too! :)
It's a A-line dress plus the cut-in details and the sparrow/birds design makes this dress stand out!! I love the dark navy blue colour of this dress too!
I can wear a mask and still look good too! :)

Oh, hi, side angle! :)
Me looking all too happy because I'm wearing such a pretty dress! :)
What I LOVE about this dress:
1) The navy blue colour that goes so well with fair skin! Really. And the navy-blue and white goes so well with each other (天衣无缝).

2) The A-line cutting of this dress! It makes me look like I have a figure because it cuts in nicely at the bodice and then flares out, so it makes me look as though I've got a bit of a figure instead of looking like a stick-thin figure all the time. :) Like! :)

3) The length of this dress is just right for my 1.63m frame! At first, I thought it will be too short too because it's rubberized at the waist, so I was scared it would ride up as I walk. But thankfully, it doesn't. Yay! =D

4) The dress have pleats from the waist-down (see the pictures below), which I think it's really nice because it twirls when I walk. Hahaha. I'm vain like that.

5) The most important point: I feel good when I wear this dress because I know I look good!! HAHA. Very important to me, I guess. Because when I wear items, I don't want people to compliment me on it, I want myself to look in the mirror and am able to tell myself that I look good! ;) Then, I will be able to believe it when other people tell me I look good.

It's like reverse psychology. When I wear something that I feel makes me look 'ordinary', even if other people praise it to the skies, I won't really believe them. Haha. But when I know I look good in a dress/top/bottom and other people have the same opinion as me, then I know that they are not bluffing me. :)

6) It looks so good on me that I've worn this dress twice/thrice in Singapore so far! :) Yes, even with the amount of clothes I have in my wardrobe, wearing any item twice/thrice within a month is considerably quite good already! :)

What I dislike about this dress:
- Nothing! Really. I love this dress so much that I'm going to bring it back to Australia with me! And wear it when the weather turns warmer (it's now winter...and going into Spring in August). :) I think it will be perfect in Australia because there are sparrows there! Hehehe. =D

Now, for some modelesque pictures. :P

Thank you Fabfad for this lovely piece!

Fairebelle Review

I won this lovely blouse from Fairebelle's FB Giveaway! When I first knew about it, I was heaps excited because I've always loved the clothes that Fairebelle sells; rainbow colours, pretty, dainty and gorgeous  are terms that comes into my mind when I see the clothes! Much love! =D

One of my lucky colour this year is green, and I guess, Mint or Jade does count as green right, so I was quite estactic to know that I was receiving 'Nelly Crochet Blouse' in Mint!! And such a good chance that I would get to wear it when I am back in Singapore over the June/July holidays!! :) Fantastic, really.

Disclaimer: This review is given out of my own free will and item was not sponsored or given, but won. So I have the right to reserve judgement on the piece and feedback is entirely my own. :)

But no worries about it, because it's really quite fantastic! I loved it so much, I'm willing to spend time to make a collage of my favourite photos wearing it! Haha. :)

I wore this to church on a Sunday morning and it was quite right too! It was such a pretty piece and not too revealing. The only 'downside' of it was that a lot of church elders commented that I lost weight when actually I gained weight! =/ I guess it was the high-collar part of this top that emphasized my already-skinny collarbones so that it stood out against everything else! Which is a good point for other girls, I think. As other people will be looking at the collarbones first because it's that striking and they won't look at the other parts that are not so flattering. ;)

What I love about this blouse:
1) The pretty crochet details at the front of the dress! It's really of good quality because I didn't find any loose or running threads that can happen with certain-quality types of crochet tops.

2) The mint colour! It's so refreshingly sweet! Love, love, love! =D

3) Halter-neck, high-collar part that allows me to flaunt my shoulders and collarbones. Yes, I didn't like how the church elders told me I looked skinny because I want to look like I've gained weight! But I'm the exception and I really like the halter-neck part because it's where the crochet details are! Pretty! :)

4) Quality of this piece. It's really good and after washing it, it doesn't shrink! Yay! =D

What I dislike about this top?
- That it makes me look skinnier. Haha. I jest. I'm the exception, really. All other girls will most likely want this top so badly because they want to look slim. And I...well...I want to look a bit fatter than my usual. I think it will be a boost if someone actually comments and say I look healthy-looking instead of all the skinny comments I get. :)

Tried to find this top on their website, but their items sell out pretty fast!! It's like when I scroll down their list of tops, it's mostly 'out of stock'! But their clothes are really so pretty that I'm not surprised that they sell out that quickly! :) And they are pretty affordable too, their tops sell for $25-$27 and quality assured! Sale pieces generally sell for <$23. I'm actually eyeing all their rainbow tops but they are all OOS! :( Sad. Seems like most people also feel that this is a good blogshop, at the rate their items sell out so quickly! So I'm not biased when I add a positive review of this piece that I got from them. :)

Rocking the N95 look with this blouse! It's greenish too! :)

Color Run is coming to Singapore!!! :D

Oh...Singaporeans are so lucky! The Color Run is finally coming to our sunny island for two days! :D My experience in Australia was so goood that I highly recommend anyone to go and run it! It's awesome! :D It's not even a marathon at all, it's too fun to be a marathon! And yes, the price is a big bummer to those on a budget, but trust me, during the run, you will be too hyped up to care! And this time, it's actually held in the evening! Seriously, in Adelaide, it was held at 9-freaking-AM. :( Which, on a weekend, it was so hard to get there on time! :(

Sign up for it! You won't regret! :)
